It’s a great size with a 1 gallon capacity. That’s about the right size so it’s not too obtrusive in your kitchen, but it doesn’t have to be emptied too often. It takes my small family about a week or a week and a half to fill it up.
It looks good, being made from stainless steel and it generally has a good quality feel to it. It sure beats the old plastic bucket I was using before. It’s also easy to empty and clean, so generally just a good product.
My favourite thing however, has got to be the charcoal filter in the lid, designed to eliminate odor. It’s incredible and my kitchen no longer stinks! You need to replace the filter every six months at a small expense, but it’s definitely worth it in my opinion. It’s a great feature.
The only bad thing that I have to say about this Norpro compost keeper, is that I guess it is on the pricier side when it comes to compost buckets. It is after all, just an attractive bucket! It’s a good investment in my opinion, but still, something to bear in mind.

Overall, I’m very impressed by this Norpro, and it’s a product I’d happily buy all over again. Yes, it’s on the pricier side but I think you’re getting great value for money. It’s certainly not a major expense, but it is more expensive than a plastic bucket. You just have to decide what you’d rather have sitting on you kitchen worktop, and whether or not you want a lovely aroma of food scraps filling your kitchen! If you want a good compost keeper that offers everything you need and will last you well into the future, then I highly recommend the Norpro 1 Gallon Stainless Steel Compost Keeper.
